	I am getting the error: "You cannot use the same tax item..."

Solution If you are using QuickBook's internal tax support, you may see the error:

There is an invalid reference to QuickBooks Item "XXX" in the Invoice line. QuickBooks error message: You cannot use the same tax item in both the line items and the txn tax.

To resolve this issue, you'll want to create a 'placeholder' unused Tax Item within QuickBooks and configure that item as your 'Most common sales tax item' within the

Edit -> Preferences -> Sales Tax -> Company Preferences

section of QuickBooks.

This error occurs because Ubersmith creates tax line items to get around the fact that QuickBooks taxation support is somewhat limited. This will typically result in tax line items which are use the same item as the 'most common sales tax item', which QuickBooks tries to append to the end of the invoice.
