You can add a new client from multiple places in the system. In the client manager dashboard, you can add a client by clicking the link in the "I Want To..." on the left hand side. When viewing your client list, you can add a new client by clicking the link located within the orange action bar.
Adding a new client into Ubersmith is split into several tabs:
Contact Info This tab collects all basic data about the client such as name, company, address, phone, fax, and email. The company name will be the primary title for the client, if a company is not entered the client's name will be shown throughout the system.
Billing/Invoicing This tab is where you decide how a client will be billed. Ubersmith support two types of billing: assigning terms (grace period) and setting a static monthly due date. A grace period is the number of days between the generation of an invoice and it's due date.
Retry Failed CC charges every: You can also decide how often a client's credit card will be retried, should it ever be declined. You can view the charges that are being retried in the charge queue manager.
Default Discount Level: The default discount level will automatically apply a discount to any new services added to the client. This is typically used for reseller discounts and preferred referrals. The discount level of any service can be changed before and/or after a service is entered into the system.
Custom Fields You can define fields to collect custom information on any client. To create and edit custom fields, refer to Custom Client Data Fields in the Setup & Admin section.
To create the client, click Save at the bottom of the popup window. To save time adding multiple clients at once, click Save & New to begin adding another new client right away. Upon adding the client to the database, a unique client id number will be assigned and can be referenced for the life of the client.
