Full Stack Developer

3+ years experience
New York, NY (or Montreal, Canada)

About the position: The Full Stack Developer will help us build and enhance the best datacenter and cloud billing, device management and help desk suite in the market for organizations of all sizes. It is a great opportunity to work on a popular product that has enormous potential. The Full Stack Developer will ideally be based in New York, NY, and will report to the Director of Engineering at Ubersmith.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely within a small, agile team to design, implement and test  features
  • Operate within the coding requirements and guidelines of an agile team
  • Participate in refining and maintaining documentation
  • Keep up to date on product and industry knowledge
  • Minimal travel as necessary

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of programming experience with PHP, especially expert object-oriented experience
  • Proficiency in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack
  • Proficiency in AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with MVC frameworks such as CakePHP, Zend, CodeIgniter
  • Experience with SOAP-based and RESTful API design, development and integration
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, and programming
  • Excellent understanding of database modeling
  • Experience with source code management systems (specifically Subversion)
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to apply business logic to development requirements
  • Basic Linux admin experience
