Ubersmith DE 1.8.0 includes one of the most anticipated features that you, our valued customers have been asking for: faster, more relevant, and deeper search capabilities! While this is one of the larger improvements in the system in 1.8.0, there are some other exciting features we’re happy to announce. Please read on for more details.

Search

Ubersmith’s new search system based on Zend Search Lucene. Using ZSL as our search platform allows us to provide faster, more relevant results without tying up the Ubersmith database. This will lead to better performance across the board. For our customers with larger datasets, we’ve added support for Apache Solr, which can boost search performance even more! As an example, a search across an Ubersmith installation with 1.5 million records using Solr can complete in less than a second!

Virtual Machine Provisioning and Management API Functions

We’ve expanded our API to allow you to manage your VM hosts via Ubersmith’s API. Create, destroy, and edit VMs programmatically remotely using whatever development platform you desire.

Payment Processing

As of this release, we now support sending Level 2 data to Authorize.net, eProcessingNetwork, InternetSecure and NaviGate, with support for additional gateways and Level 3 data coming soon. Providing this additional data may help in reducing the fees you pay to your merchant provider!

All-new Search System

We’re very excited about the new search system based on Zend Search Lucene. This new search system will greatly improve the responsiveness of the search system, and allow users to search through their data in ways that weren’t previously possible.

Hierarchical IP Address Management

The IP Address Management system is gaining the ability to “nest” IP Assignments within each other to create an IP Address hierarchy. This will help to streamline the way that Ubersmith tracks allocations and better support managing large client allocations.

Credit Card Processing Enhancements

As part of our commitment to providing our users with best-in-class credit card processing we’re adding support for passing Level 2 and 3 data in transactions, and logging of AVS responses. We are also implementing new key management and encryption routines, as part of our PA-DSS certification process.

Virtualization API

Building of the success of the Virtuozzo Containers integration in 1.7.0, we are extending the API to support automating virtualized infrastructure via Ubersmith.

Switch Management Service Module

Automatically turn down switch ports based on service status. If the service is cancelled or suspended for non-payment, Ubersmith will automatically turn down the switch ports on any associated devices.

Renewal Queue Manager

Keep up to date on the status of your service’s renewal processes, and head off problems as soon as they are encountered.

Apache and MySQL monitoring
